DDD extends TriDef 3D license to JOMVS for glasses-free 3D mobile tablets
3D-News Posted: Tuesday, September 3, 2013 (15:00 UTC) | Posted By: Webmaster

DDD Group plc has licensed its TriDef(R)3D software to China's Chongqing JOMVS Photoelectricity Company Limited ("JOMVS") for its glasses-free 3D tablets.

JOMVS produces a range of glasses-free 3D displays for Mobile, TV and PC products. Earlier this month DDD announced a license agreement with JOMVS for glasses-free 3D PCs and this new agreement expands their use of TriDef 3D to include mobile devices.

JOMVS' new glasses-free 3D tablets will use the TriDef 3D Mobile solution to convert 2D photos and videos into 3D. The screens are high definition and provide 3D viewing without the need to wear glasses.

TriDef 3D Mobile also includes a game solution that enables over 60 of the latest Android mobile games, including "Angry Birds", "Blood and Glory" and "Cordy", to be played in stereoscopic 3D 'off the shelf', even though they were not specifically developed for 3D.

The JOMVS tablets will also be compatible with the Yabazam 3D Android mobile app, which provides the same original 3D programming available via DDD's Yabazam content portal. Yabazam has over 80 streaming 3D movie titles for viewing on 3D consumer devices.

DDD will receive quarterly royalty revenues from JOMVS based on the volume of 3D units shipped.

Chris Yewdall, chief executive of DDD, said: "JOMVS aims to be the biggest manufacturer of glasses-free 3D products in Western China by 2017. We are pleased to expand the scope of our license to tablets, further increasing the number of TriDef powered 3D devices in the market."
